Process And Material

100% beeswax is perfect by nature. It is the slowest and cleanest burning wax on Earth. Created by the brilliant honeybee, beeswax naturally boasts a pollen-infused color and a floral-sweet scent. Each batch of beeswax slightly varies in color and scent; indicated by the plants and trees pollinated. The beeswax I am currently working with was pollinated with mostly Linden Trees. These candles carry a warm spice aroma–ideal for the Fall and Winter seasons. A time-honored natural resource, beeswax begins as a translucent wax secretion from the abdominal glands of a honeybee. It’s made up of fatty acids and oils. The honeybee uses this to create the honeycomb walls and cappings. Its color yellows after being in contact with plant material stored within the honeycomb.

Beeswax candles are hypoallergenic and cleanse the air on a molecular level. Scientifically, burning beeswax candles emits negative ions which neutralize positive ions (airborne allergens like dust, dander, pollen, smoke). In nature, negative ions are found at beach fronts and at the top of mountains, where there is little to no air pollution. This medicinal property contributes to why we feel good after lighting a beeswax candle.
