Ardent Homesteader

The Ardent Homesteader began their homesteading journing back in 2010 when receiving their first chickens at their farm in the Hudson Valley. This “gateway animal” eventually led to a small number of cows, pigs, and guinea fowl in addition to more extensive fruit and veggie crops.

A natural in the kitchen and an intuitive experimenter, Kristin tried her first batch of caramel. Not quite what she was hoping for, she continued to experiment. After a few more batches, Kristin came away with what she imagined to be the perfect caramel.

Caramel sauce became my signature gift and was often requested by friends and family.
